Some more pics, hopefully these help a bit... Firstly, the Cole Parker car of Fox. This went on to be Michael Davison's first car, now MIA. Colin Kaine. Where's this these days? Was this car ever rebuilt after this stack in 1998, or were the parts put into the Emson/Chapman car? Jim McKnoulty MkII, after pancaking one car nearly on top of me, this was the second car Jim raced under Cole Parker. Where is it now? Ok, so this is the orange car. Is it the one that's for sale? Ken Crompton I've got this one down as Peter Phillips. Any other info? Fairly pointless pic, but definately the combination of two cars. Blue/yellow doors from his old car, the ex-Melton one, and the rest of the car is ex-Suhle. So where did Roy and Paul Leaver's cars wind up? This one has me stumped. I have driver listed as "unknown". Car 44 is Colin Smith's number, but Col's car was yellow at that stage (first QGRA meeting, MP middle of 1998).

Here's some answers folks....
Here's Brucey Dummett in a rather second hand machine (I think it would have been QRDA meet 2000, after big stack under bridge). Was this the yellow Fryer machine? Correct, which was later painted orange, as per the per the photo you posted of Fryer at QR.
Here's the Brian Staples machine. Where is it now? I am thinking this car could be the blue one I had last year. Now in Gavin Pates hands.
Here is Kandice in her ex-Heffernan machine first time out at Lakeside. Was this the same car that wound up being the 81 in recent years? I think you may be right there.
Darren Suhle, Top, the original car pre-QR concrete, what of that is now in... Bottom, one of the first times out in the car that we believe is now the Connor car. Top was was later sold to Chris Lloyd, remeber the biffo at MP early 04 with Bec Dawes, that was the last time it raced. We repaired it, and it now sits in the workshop of a chap named Gary Yates. And correct about the Connor car.
What's the story behind these two cars? The one leading was destoyed the very next meeting after that shot by Daniel Natoli in qualifying at QR. The second car was bought by Kenny Williams, and fell off the trailer going up the Gateway Bridge, The remainder of that car is now my #27.
The Shaun Lyall I think maybe my #25

Some more answers, the rest I have no idea!
Colin Kaine. Where's this these days? This was Kenny Williams 1st car (See the photo you first posted a page back with Dummett.
Jim McKnoulty MkII, after pancaking one car nearly on top of me, this was the second car Jim raced under Cole Parker. Where is it now? Was this the car I bought in 1999 which is now M.Dawes?
Ken Crompton = The "Groova" mobile #2
Fairly pointless pic, but definately the combination of two cars. Blue/yellow doors from his old car, the ex-Melton one, and the rest of the car is ex-Suhle. Now the Simpson car. (Christ I wish they would race that thing or sell it to someone who would)
So where did Roy and Paul Leaver's cars wind up? The red one is now #97 Trev "Swalfy" Brown. The whit/blue/red thing was, Woelders/Kidd then Lawson, Dawson raced it a few times, the Leavers and ended up with Chris Lloyd. Was repainted in blue/yellow GT stripes and was raced by Bobby Ervin at the last meeting. Now owned by Gary Yates.

nothing like memory lane is there team ? McKnoulty Mk 2 was ex-Craig English car from 97. Bought by parker and ran by his rent-a-team drivers. I am not sure what happened to this car exactly, but I ? am 90% sure that it is not Cam's car 22 from 99-00, because cole had about 6 cars or so at that time. Peter Phillips 99 is that the same as Rod's record holding car - I think it could be.. and I think Rod still has it ? Or did it go to become one of the fryer mobiles ? Very Intersting stuff though. Kaye's hatchback was a write off and the mechanicals became the New blue Woodward car which was then sold to Emson for Brett Emson to drive and then sold to Troy Champion.. sorry Chapman.. the number 44 in those pics is interesting crash man. This looks like the Greg Vink car from 95, given it's rather bizarre paint job and red interior. And it also looks like to became a parker car, given active autospares signage on the side. Greg Vink used to run 44 before smithy. Could this be the car that became the castrol car and was destroyed by Jimmy Mac at lakeside ?? Am sure you would have a photo of that car somewhere sir crashtest ??

Woodduck, Yeah I think you're right re: the Tony Champion mobile. Where is the Strokemobile now?? Is it the current #15 car?? I always thought that car was a pretty good car, but remember Emson bouncing it off the scenery and other cars a few times (like we all did ;D ). I've got to agree, I'm sure the 44 in that photo is the Vink mobile from 1995 although the red interior throws me a bit. I vaguely remember racing against it at the 1997 ATCC Round at LIR when I was driving Col Smith's newly purchased (ex-Darren Privett Gemini - the one with three bags of gravel as ballast under the backseat!! ) Regarding the ex #78 Brian Staples car - I believe this car was sold to the Crompton's who ran two cars at a couple of meetings - the current #2 Groova mobile and the #78. I believe the car then made it's way to the Grant stable where Keith Grant's son (can't remember his name) raced it. Did this car not become a Job's On vehicle? CD.

The current #15 Connor car was built by Shule new. Chapman/Emson car I have no idea where it ended up.
And I think the Grant car you speak of is still owned by them.

The red and Black shell that Woody had the back taken off ended up as the body on my sports sedan. It was then re-shelled into the blue #9 car (a secret spare from a fellow competitor, built in a week or so).
That red and black shell was actually 4 once we cut it open. FrontLeft, FrontRight, Center and RearEnd. It has just re-appeared as Tony Cox's Gemini Sports Sedan (although I don't know what is left of the semi-finished roller I sold him)
Emsons tore both rear quarters off the blue car in separate events. Straightest body shell we ever measured, but something wrong with it, possibly too stiff in the wrong spots from the quarter panel replacements and would now work well on the Advans.
By coincidence, the original shell on the sports sedan, the red and black shell, the blue car that I eventually owned, and the three coupe spare cars were all built in Nov 78, the same as me.
I also ended up with the SuperService renter car which broke the 78 chain, being a 76, but never had the chance to run it.
Sold the Blue car and the Orange renter to Michael Baldwin for a Go-Kart (why weren't you all buying cars back then?) and Michael Davidson was going to return and join him in a two car team. It never eventuated.
The orange car ended up red and in the Davidson name, and was sold to Gerry Van De Linde and family. Don't be confused by the earlier Dawson car he ran, also painted red. By the silver fuel cap cover I would think it is the Mat Pickens driven car (just a guess).
Orange car is now mine again and red for the moment.
The blue car has not re-appeared, but if anyone wants to identify it all the rust was removed with rare-spare panels, not plate, so it should be obvious if you compare the top and bottom side of the floor pan. Be great to find out how it goes on Advans.
The final Fryer car is sitting for sale, looking very sad, and equipped with a "phat" cam according to the guy who ended up with it (*not so - see below*).
#72 was built from a road car by Nick and he deserves all the credit in the world as it is not an easy thing to do if you haven't been around them for a while, and he has developed a winner.

Do you mean the guy on the North side of Brisbane who bought Fryers property??? Car 32?? I now own it & the cam is a Tighe cam as used in QGRA. It's now in my white coupe & goes quite nicely.

That's the one.
Like I said, it's what he told me and he was selling it. I'm glad someone saved it.
What are the plans for it now?

#67 Dummett machine in yellow in the pictures could be my car. It was originally yellow in the log book and sports damage that would match up with the door frame, front and back of the quarter panel (but then what Gemini hasn't been yellow and bent at some point.....). It is a SuperService car though, and Dummett is the name on the car in the pictures currently in the log book, though the car is orange.

Great to see you on here Tony And some excellent previous knowledge you have brought to this topic. Your basically spot on with all of the above Id reckon. And correct again with the Pickens car, which is now my #25 car.

I think all the Rose cars turned a grey-blue much like Dan Bowden's current car in 2001.
Daniel Natoli rented a car at the first meeting for the year, and basically drove out of pit lane and into the gravel trap upside down (well, OK, he may have got 1 lap in). He did a good job, the car was stuffed.
He was doing a rent before you buy, he took the car but didn't pay, so Sean was after him for most of that year. Don't know what happened about payment or the car.
I thought Sean's own car was Dan Bowden's but other messages don't indicate that. Does anyone know what happened to it?
#15 Conner car isn't Crosten's, it was Darryl's pride and joy and the one Brad raced.
The car Damien was running was always Searle's and was sold to Suhle to eventually crash into the Pit Wall and just about everyone else from time to time. Don't know where it or Suhle ended up.
Col Smiths car is now gone. The motor went into my ex-woody-emson car half way through 2001 and tuned it into a missile (until I got another new motor and found that Smithies was a slug in comparison, good work Col for how fast he was), then the motor became a spare that was eventually sold to Fryer for his last car. Don't think he liked it's performance so he drilled me in the left door at turn 4 QR from the inside of the track while I was on the outside letting him go. It got a SuperService birthday after that, don't know how much Fryer was involved in the motor though, but it went a bit better. In theory that would now be the motor in Russ' car, but I noticed the tappet cover was Gold when I looked at buying the Fryer car and it was originally black. Paint's cheap but it may be a different motor.
Jason Higgs car was quick but had a big nose job. Once repaired Jason was tied up in his quest to become an Officer of the Law and just didn't feel like it after a stint in Sports Sedans. Car was for sale but I don't know where it went.
Both Col's and Jason's cars were bent at the same corner, Turn 1 QR. Some HQ knob spun at the start of a race, then didn't hold his foot on the brake. I think Col got the front and Jason got the back. End result, three very average cars.
Sharon Wood did race the car Mia had (owned it too?) and will forever be known as the person who boasted to two guys in the control tower about how she got bad starts so she drilled a guy to get him out of the way while waiting to collect her license for signatures. She didn't realise that Guy 1 was Michael Davidson, who she turned around, and Guy 2 was me, the unfortunate sod who had Davidson's car plastered across the front of him. Nice work...
All these memories make me remember why I left, and why I'm back. Top marks to Nick, Col, John and everyone else for the much improved driving standards (and still sorry Bec, didn't mean to tag you!).

Okalie dokalie, just trying to figure out what the history of the #9 "Dawson's Wife" car is.
Going back to 1998, looking at the results from the final meet of the year- 16 29 Cole PARKER COLE PARKER 18 93 Jim McKOULTY COLE PARKER
7 29 Cole PARKER COLE PARKER 20 93 Terry KEHOE COLE PARKER DNF 92 Alan FOX COLE PARKER
10 29 Cole PARKER COLE PARKER 19 92 Alan FOX COLE PARKER 21 93 Terry KEHOE COLE PARKER
5 29 Cole PARKER COLE PARKER 15 93 Jim McKNOULTY COLE PARKER
6 29 Cole PARKER COLE PARKER 16 92 Alan FOX COLE PARKER 18 93 Terry KEHOE COLE PARKER DNF 91 Jim McKNOULTY COLE PARKER ^ I believe this was the meeting the 91 Castrol Car was written off in an accident with Bradford at the Karussell
4 29 Cole PARKER COLE PARKER 15 92 Kerry SPENCER COLE PARKER 17 91 Alan FOX COLE PARKER
18 91 McNAULTY/KEOGH ALAN FOX ^ 2 hour race
2 29 Cole PARKER COLE PARKER 15 92 Kerry SPENCER COLE PARKER 19 91 Jim McKNOULTY COLE PARKER ^ ATCC round
Ok, what I'm getting at....
#29 is definately the ex-Wilson now Dawes car. #91 is definately written off #92 is went to Davison, not sure from there #93 I think this is it!
Problems- the number 9. Nothing raced with number nine. The #93 never had silver bumpers. But the team did have support from Castrol. Questions, questions, questions.

Hey WoodDuck, you called my blue car the "stroke-mobile". What did you know that I didn't?
(Don't hold back, it was a customer engine. I have my reasons for doing things my own way this time)

I thought as much WoodDuck. I don't know if it was that or if it was just really well built as a lot of time and effort went into the last motor by SuperService and it did have plenty of go. It would have had a super thin head gasket before you even look at anything else (back when they were free).
All I can say is I know what I asked for and had no reason to believe I had received anything but a legal donk (as there were still plenty of faster cars in a straight line) and should have been the same spec as Nick's motor.
Hopefully those rumors will die an ungracious death now and my current car will be given a clean bill of health. By the 1-hour we will have replaced and refurbished everything but the back axle and the steering rack, and I want to check the ratios of both before hand if I can just to be sure!
And for re-assurance for Russell Mirfin, Ian Woodward rebuilt the motor when Michael Baldwin bought it, so if there were any irregularities I'm sure they would have been corrected anyway!

I know for sure if Woody (Ian Woodward) had anything to do with the engine it would be all legal (taken to all the limits though) as he had a lot to do with the building of my current motor and we went to great lengths to make sure everything was legal.

Great thread guys - excellent reading.
TC will probably know, has my old gem gone to the scrap heap? It was bought by the Davidson's (mainly for the log book and aluminium cage), don't know what happened from there.
TC - I'll be letting Peter from Superservice know what you thought of his motor ;D ;D Wasn't it the dodgey gearbox sapping it of power!!!
If my memory is correct the Dummet car picture went to the scrap heap. It coped huge damege in a big shunt under the bridge at Lakeside (great in-car footage that!) . I then shortened the rear end about a foot later in the day when the battery terminal came of causing Bruce to come to a sudden stop coming out of Karassell. Hit him at full noise in third gear, didn't even have time to get my foot of the throttle!!
